Youth Clubs

HYPE’s year round Youth Clubs reach the heart of the community using local community centres as their base to reach more young people each year.

By utilising the community centres rooms, HYPE staff and volunteers run a range of sessions that are youth led ensuring the delivery is of the need for the children and young people that attend the sessions.

Why?

Research demonstrates the impact of youth work on young people’s lives. Youth workers help young people through difficult times, signpost them to health and other services, go with them to court, support them to find employment or housing.

Young people trust youth workers because of the relationships they have built up, on a rock climbing trip or simply over a game of pool. Youth workers meet young people on their own territory and in all youth work interventions the young person chooses to be there and to engage.

Open access work means that young people are not stigmatised and can enjoy their leisure time in a safe space with their peers. For those with mental health issues, a local youth work presence can be a vital lifeline.

Courtney Park Youth Club, Rock Ferry

These sessions take place from Courtney Park Community Cetre, Courtney Road on the Woodward Estate, Rock Ferry. HYPE deliver a range of activities from five-a-side football to face-painting to bike mechanics. Sessions vary each week, and each term is finished off with a big celebration and talent competition. HYPE also run a trip each term.

If you live in the area and want to see what it’s all about, get in touch and HYPE will register you at the club.
