Like we’d never been away..

Seacombe is an area we have worked in since 2008 although in recent years haven’t delivered enough youth projects. That changed in the summer of 2019.

Our team started worked in Demesne Street Park engaging the local young people in sports activities then brought our volunteers into the programme to deliver social action and really bring the park back to life. Then following some community events we weer able to offer further youth provision that led to trips and more strategic planning from the local ward councillors and the HYPE team.

Partnerships are key to all Vibrant Parks

On 3rd August 2019, three not-for-profit organisations came together to create a Vibrant Park event at the Colours Festival in Princes Park, Liverpool.

The initiative was designed to bring a diverse audience of people living in the surrounding areas together for a free-to- attend family fun day with educational outcomes at the start of the Summer holidays, which was open to and accessible for all.

Primarily this would provide a platform for cultural exchange and to strengthen diverse communities

Why? Because Together We’re Stronger

A Vibrant Start to the Year..

A great start to Vibrant Parks for 2019 in Birkenhead Park. Over 500 people attended the Heritage event with a range of activities for the local public to participate in from hat making to egg and spoon races.

The weather was excellent as was the attitude the twenty Vibrant Parks volunteers showed on the day.

Volunteers were involved in gathering research about HYPE’s newly founded Victorian Courtyard, selling coffee and teas, running the Victorian Sports games and also working from the Victorian Sweet shop which was officially opened on the day. The competition to name the sweet shop was completed with three lucky winners all naming the Sweet Shop ‘Sweets and Treats’.

In total HYPE engaged with 193 children and young people at the Saturday event and over the weekend in Birkenhead Park we had 27 volunteers aged 16-24 years involved actively. Like we said what a great start…….
